Deviation Actions
I'd really like to take a moment to rant about what I've found to be one of the most unpleasant parts of being a bride-to-be (quite possibly the ONLY unpleasant part).
So today I picked up my wedding dress, and tried it on one more time to make sure nothing was damaged or dirty.
Now, this dress only came in one size, so it doesn't fit perfectly. The back only zips up about halfway, but is otherwise perfect. But when asked about putting a corset back into the dress, the dress store employee's first response was "oh, well you're going to be losing weight, aren't you?"
And THIS is what has driven me completely insane. Everybody and their cousin not only ASSUMES that you must be trying to lose weight, they will all but INSIST that you do. They make snide little comments about what you're eating, reminding you that "you have a dress to fit into".
What would ordinarily be considered major social taboo suddenly becomes totally acceptable, just because you now have a ring on your left hand.
I've not only experienced this firsthand, often from complete strangers, I've watched it happen to so many other engaged women. But it's unacceptable, and it needs to stop.
Hopefully a final solution for my illness
